Li Xueyong Party Secretary and Vice Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology Inspects Dalian S&T Innovation Park of Chinese Academy of Sciences

On 21st October, Li Xueyong Party secretary and vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology inspected the Dalian S&T Innovation Park of the Chinese Academy of Sciences under construction, with the accompaniment of related personnel of the Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology and the lushunkou District Government.

The Dalian S&T Innovation Park of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is jointly constructed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dalian. Following Beijing and Shanghai, it is the third innovation incubation base which is jointly constructed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and localities. At present, the infrastructure of an area of 1.24 sq m in the innovation park has been completed and the Innovation Building, with an area of 17000 sq m has been completed and put into use. Liaoning (Dalian) S&T Innovation Park has been officially established; the S&T City of Dalian University of Technology starts construction; industrialization projects of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the field of new resources and the S&T Park of Dalian Jiaotong University enters into the Park and the work of investment invitation is accelerating.

After knowing the situation of park planning and design, functional positioning and industrial layout, Li Xueyong points out:” the construction of the Dalian S&T Innovation Park of the Chinese Academy of Sciences must be properly designed, projects well selected and talents attracted to make it an important national innovation base. And thus it will be embraced into the development plan for Costal Economic Belt of Liaoning Province and provide technical and intellectual support for “Five Points and One Line” development and opening-up strategy of Liaoning Province.

The S&T innovation Park is an innovative initiating zone which combines the functions of scientific and technical innovation, achievements transfer, technical incubation and industrialized demonstration. Aiming at high-tech industrialization, a batch of high-tech achievements and products, with international first-class R&D level and proprietary intellectual property rights in the new fields of new resource technology as well as energy saving and environmental protecting technology, come into being. The Ministry of Science and Technology will offer support in the respect of the construction of incubators and S&T talent innovation base.

It is reported, with the full support of the Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, the total investment of three comprehensive zone projects, namely the new district project of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, the S&T city project of Dalian University of Technology and the S&T Park of Dalian Jiaotong University, amounts to nearly 3 billion Yuan. By now, key enterprises including Liaoning Research Center of Environmental Engineering enter into the Innovation Building. The construction of the Development and Pilot Center of the S&T Innovation Park, covering an area of 60000 sq m, will kick off at the end of the year, which will create the best public development and pilot platform in Northeast China and provide first-class R&D and service facilities for enterprises entering into the Park.
